My working week in lipsticks

I was never much of a lipstick fan, I had a few in my collection but nothing massive and certainly not ones I would wear on the regular. You see I am a lazy make up wearer and the whole reapplying thing just used to bore me silly, so I used to forgo this step. This is until I got the most amazing red colour in a beauty box from Love Me Beauty. It was a Make Up Forever mini lipstick, and I thought for fun I would slap it on my lips. The colour was so pretty and it really finished off my look, so from that moment I was hooked! That night (which was date night) I ran to town, hit up Urban Decay and my lippie collection has been growing ever since.

I never shy away from a full face of make up even when I am at work, so I thought I would share with you my working week in lipsticks. Just for the fun of it like 🙂

Monday – MAC Matte Mehr

This is a gorgeous matte brown colour which honestly goes with almost everything. Its not drying like most matte lipsticks either so thats a plus.

MAC satin Viva Glam 2

Its a slightly pinkier colour this one, so I need to be a little bit more selective as to what I pair it with. This was one of the first lispticks I brought, so has seen a little more love than most of these. I adore it.

MAC retro Matte Ruby Woo

Newest red to my collection. Oh my days what a colour. Really I have nothing more to say about this colour than…. WOOOOOOOOOOOW.

Jeffree Star Unicorn Blood

Ahhh, this is one of my Ride or Die make up items. Not only does it smell like orange lolly pops, the staying power of this bad boy is cray cray. I mean I can go out for dinner and drinks, and this is almost tattooed on. The only shame of it is that the stars on the case are starting to wear off.

Kat Von D Bow N Arrow

Hands down most difficult packaging to take a photograph of!!!! When I brought this I was not expecting it to be as brown as it was. I can rock a red no probs, but a dark brown really threw me. Odd huh! I am still finding my feet with the colour, but I am learning to love it. Its about one of the only liquid lipsticks I own and it does dry my lips out, so I need to make sure that I have been kind to my lips before I wear it. I have a few KVD lipsticks though and I have to say her brand is just one I adore!!!

So tell me folks, what do you rock during the week. What are your ride or die lippies? Share with me so I might find a few more faves.

Until next time,

XO’s

Be Barefaced Multi Corrective 3 in 1 Eye Gel. Are you brave enough to Bareface it?

Back in my 20’s I thought I was a Goddess, yet I didn’t treat myself like one and I certainly didn’t treat my skin well at all. I am lucky and I have always been blessed with clear skin, even at school I skipped the spotty stage, I was way more in the awkward and yet to find myself group. I never used to clean my skin properly, a baby wipe would suffice, and the only moister my skin received was when I got it wet in the shower.

I thought, nay I KNEW I was going to be young forever. No one was going to make me grow up, no siree….. and I carried on my merry way. However, a few years ago my mirror started lying to me. It started showing lines and wrinkles, bags dark circles and puffy things where puffy things had never been before! I scolded it, and sat it in the corner to think about what it was doing to me. I didn’t sign up for it to turn into one of these circus mirrors! Then, as I was about to leave the house, I caught sight of myself in the downstairs mirror, same lines, wrinkles and puffy stuff. I freaked and did what all gals do in a crisis of massive proportion….. I called my mum and cried.

Needless to say, after killing herself laughing at my first world issues she scolded me for taking such bad care of my skin, and as mums normally do she had a point. So I set about trying to find all the things that I should have been putting on my skin in my 20’s, and hoping I wasn’t too late!

I have been through many an eye cream since this nightmarish experience, but not one has touched the magical powers found within Be Barefaced Multi Corrective 3 in One Eye Gel. It boasts that its three powerful ingredients of Marine Collagen, Vitamin E and Argan oil will work its mojo and brighten the eye contour area and beat away dark circles with a metaphorical stick. ‘Too good to be true’ I thought, “going to be a gazillion pounds’ I thought…. Oh intermerwebland how wrong I was. This stuff is amazing, epic and awesome in one little bottle!

It took a few days of me using it once a day, but my dark circles were so visibly reduced, my other half accused me of applying makeup before having a shower!! I started using this twice a day and I swear down that some of my finer lines have gone. My under eyes love me, and I owe it all to this little beauty.

Its a gel formula, which I am new to and a little goes a long long way. Half a pump does both my eyes easily, a whole pump and my eyes are swimming in gel! It absorbs into the skin beautifully, and doesn’t leave a nasty sticky residue like some do. Best of all it doesn’t affect my make up, which for me is a mahoosive plus as some eye creams made my under eye make up slide away. As an added Brucey Bonus you get a cute little bear on the packaging.

If you can’t tell, I really and truly am in LOVE. I stumbled upon this on Amazon, but you can pick it up direct from them too at no extra cost. They have loads and loads of amazing looking things to try. I just wish my budget stretched to be able to pick up a few more this month. Be Barefaced is a born and bred UK company. Starting in Brixton, London, they are now a leading online skincare company. I can almost tell that I am going to love everything from this company.

So I hope you youngsters have learnt a thing or two from my tale of woe. Don’t be a twit like me, look after what you got now, so it can look after you later on in life.

Until next time intermerweb land,

XO’s

Amy

Liebster Award…..’So goooooo on and take a bow’

Liebster Award….. Wow. I am so freaking happy. When I started this blog, is was mainly for a creative outlet and to share my love of beauty and my story of having a child who has additional needs (not touched on that yet, but I will. Its a long ass story which I need to figure out how to put into words and not turn it into War and Peace). I never ever thought that people would read what I wrote, or that I would make friends through it either. In the sometimes hateful world of social media comes a few bright shining beacons, and the support and love I have received in such a short space of time has been overwhelming. It makes me want to stay put and never leave.

The wonderful Lisa over at Creative Misfits has nominated me for a Liebster Award. She really is a babe. Her blog is amazing so please go and check her out. Its a wonderful blend of books and beauty. What is not to love right.

Her post, where she nominated me has a couple of sentences which I want to share with you…

“Receiving these just makes me smile because although they are not physical awards they are recognition all the same. People who have read my content and enjoyed it enough to think ” yeah i’ll nominate her for this award I think she deserves it.” “

Someone, a stranger by all accounts, has taken the time to look at my blog. She has seen something in my writing, in me, and taken the time to nominate me for something. I mean WOW. With all the blogs out there, beauty blogs at that, this is a real honour and gives me the push to carry on.

I bet you are asking exactly what I was asking to start with….. what the heck is a Liebster Award? Well, after doing some research I can tell you that this award has roots in the German blogging scene. Liebster means ‘dearest or favourite in German, and this award was born to show love new bloggers to recognise their achievements and efforts. It also functions as a support structure, aimed to connect new bloggers, build networks and help you find interesting new blogs which you may not have come across before. Some describe this as a chain letter, but I like to think of this as Pay It Forward. As I have been nominated, its my job to nominate others and so on and so forth. Sharing the love!!

It seems to be based around the number 11!! I need to answers 11 Questions, share 11 random facts, think of 11 questions to ask the bloggers I choose, and then they do the same 🙂 Theses are the rules of the Liebster Award Club, and we must abide by them.

So lets get started with the fact about me:

1. I work in the education sector and I am dedicated to supporting people to the best of my ability.

2. I have trained myself to become a Special Needs Buff to help my son. These skills have transported across to helping other families.

3. I get hiccups all the time, without warning. My son is the same and when I was pregnant with him I used to get worried if he didn’t have hiccups at least 3 times a day.

4. I am creative, but not arty. I love to colour and have more than a couple of colouring books.

5. When I am passionate about something I want to make sure I learn all I can. Almost to the point of obsession.

6. My make up wish list goes into the thousands…. Easily!

7. I used to dance (badly).

8. I am thinking about getting a pet hedgehog and calling him Pixel.

9. I love to bake, and like to think I am some sort of Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry genius (I am really not!)

10. I love to make new friends and be as sociable as possible, but suffer with serious anxiety issues.

11. I am an only child.
